How long is the recovery period for Rhinoplasty surgery?

Patients who undergo either general or local anaesthetic procedures are likely to experience bruising and swelling that may last for several days after the procedure. The extent to the bruising could last for anything from 2 to 14 days depending on the extent of the corrective surgery undertaken, and the patients own susceptibility to bruising generally.

Once the swelling has subsided, camouflage make up can be applied to cover most of the residual bruising. Consequently, we recommend that patients who undergo rhinoplasty make the necessary provision in their calendar for possible prolonged bruising and take the relevant an amount of time off work as they deem necessary. Patients may experience a stiffness of the nose and slight post-operative swelling for sometime after the procedure.

Patients will be able to discuss recovery times with the surgeon at consultation.
