Why should varicose veins be treated?

While all varicose veins initially present themselves as unsightly in appearance and of a cosmetic concern, if they go untreated they can develop into being a more complex condition or severe medical condition.

Without treatment, the leg veins will enlarge and worsen with time. The blood circulation action will increasingly suffer as more disease gathers over time. This may manifest either with increasing hardening of the arteries, thus increasing the likelihood of sufferers having a heart attack or stroke. The creation and worsening of spider veins is also likely. The timing of such complex conditions being presented will vary depending on the individual’s general health and lifestyle.

Untreated, varicose veins can give rise to other medical problems. When the veins enlarge the ability of the valves within the veins deteriorate starving the heart of the required blood flow from the legs.
