• I had been self-conscious about my shapeless 'cankles' for years, and no matter how much I dieted or exercised I couldn't improve their shape or lose any fat from my calves. As far as I knew there wasn't any treatment that was safe on this delicate area. However, after seeing an article on Smartlipo in a magazine earlier this year I went to Skin Medical and had two sessions on my calves which covered the area from my ankles up to my knees. The staff at Skin Medical were very friendly and it was clear from my first consultation that they really know their stuff and I was in safe hands. The actual procedure was relatively painless - much less than I was expecting - and I was able to resume my normal activities straight after treatment. I had bruising to the area which disappeared within two weeks and I now have calves that I can show off! After years of hiding them away under jeans and long skirts I can finally wear short skirts. My legs are now in proportion with the rest of my body and I am really happy with the results.

• Acne Scarring
• I have always had acne scarring since I was a teenager and even after going for various treatments, the scarring was still quite deep and unsightly. I went on to have the Active FX treatment which I have to say has shown tremendous results. Within 2 weeks of having this procedure done, all my friends and collegues kept on commenting as how my skin was lovely and much improved. I would definately recommend this treatment to anyone who like me has had very bad acne scarring. The treatment may not remove all the scarring but it definately makes a huge improvement. • Acne Scarring
• Treatments: Active FX to treat acne scarring My acne started in my late teens - at eighteen or nineteen - and was quite severe. Through my twenties I saw many dermatologists and tried antibiotics and prescribed face washes but with no improvement. The acne did eventually clear up by using RetinA topical cream combined with a relatively high dose of RoAccutane. The side effects were very strong but I was prepared to do anything to clear my skin. For a while I was happy with the results but then I started to get very conscious of the deep scarring left by the acne. I tried microdermabrasions and a different laser treatment but had very mixed results. I heard about Active FX and met a couple of people who had already had it done. It looked promising and I had a consultation with Clinician experienced in Acne scarring and use of lasers. We discussed the problem and the options thoroughly and explained that nothing can totally eradicate acne scarring but he thought he could make a positive improvement. I was quite reassured and knew I would be in good hands, so there I went again, trying one more procedure on my face. ActiveFX treatment is said to continue to work for six months and you continue to see improvements. I have to say this is true. I am happy to see the changes on my face - todate the scars are about 50 per cent faded, my skin tone is even with no more discoloration or patchy areas and it is much smoother. I have had many compliments and positive comments from friends and family since then. I definitely feel a lot more confident and dare not to wear any make-up sometimes, and when I do get my make-up on, I feel much prettier now.

• I am in my early twenties and like most I have parts of my body I wish I could keep well hidden! I am slim but found that there was a build up of fat around my thighs which was resistant to any exercising and dieting I tried. I searched the web for an alternative way to get rid of these flabby thighs and was put off by the traditional lipo method as it seemed a little aggressive. I came across SmartLipo and decided to look into it further. I called Skin Medical Clinic and was offered a free consultation with a nurse. I was impressed by the information given to me at the clinic and felt confident in their abilities. After consideration I decided to go ahead with the procedure. On the day of my procedure I was nervous to say the least but the staff were friendly and helpful and I soon relaxed. After a few final questions from the surgeon the procedure began. I was afraid that it might be painful but with the local anaesthetic it was just a very bizarre sensation! Afterwards the area was tender to touch but I found that I didn’t need the pain killers provided. There was a minute incision on each thigh and I didn’t require stitches. It is now little over three weeks since the procedure and I can see a very slight change to the shape of my thighs. I’m looking forward to seeing the full effects of the treatment which should be four months after the treatment, just in time for my travels! I don’t expect a drastic change to my body but look forward to feeling more confident in my bikini!

• It was not until I reached my mid forties that I started to add that extra inch or two to my waist and creases appeared on my back. No matter how much exercise at the gym, it never made any impact. I was considering conventional lipsuction but had read that it can leave ripples and dents.
