Laser Lipolysis such as Smartlipo requires Registration by Healthcare Commission.
Laser lipolysis is an invasive, cosmetic surgical procedure, involving a surgical keyhole incision to the skin. The Healthcare Commission, HCC, declared that any organisatioin wishing to perform this procedure will need to satisfy the HCC inspection and approval, to be classified as an Independant hospital (IH).
It is therefore not sufficent for a organisation to be simply registered by the HCC, they also need to have specifically applied for Smartlipo or laser lipolysis. The HCC will only grant such permission once they have inspected the organisation's premises, interviewed personnel and approved their protocols.
Patients are therefore urged to request to see the organisation HCC certificate before booking any laser lipolysis procedure.
An organisation performing Smartlipo or laser lipolysis must therefore demonstrate to HCC that they have the skills, experience, knowledge and an appropriate environmentto be able to deliver this service in a safe and effictive manner.
The HCC concluded that Laser lipolysis is a minor surgical procedure and therefore some Acute Hospital standards will be appropriate.
We are pleased to advise that Skin Medical does have the neccessary HCC registration to perform laser lipolysis including Smart lipo. This certificate can be inspected at time of consultation with our clinicians.
